Playing with words

This is my favourite quote! We were supposed to take a piece of text and create a piece of art with it. The final composition didn't have to be readable but mine is because I really appreciate these words. I chose colours that I like and added the blue for emphasis to reflect the way the quote talks about Christians being different.

Digital Painting

Okay, here are some different versions of a digital painting that we had to do for class. I chose to work with images of a graveyard because I find them to be very peaceful and oddly hopeful. I think that cemeteries have a beauty that is often overlooked because they are thought to be creepy, -but I enjoy them.
Some of the compositions are more effective then others...I tried to warm the image and take away some of the "creepy factor" by adding a sepia layer but that may not have been effective. Generally I like the idea but I think that it could be developed more.

My Logo!

This is a logo that I created. It took FOREVER to make...I kept getting really confused with my layers and colours. It was pretty frustrating but its sort of cute. I like it, I would use it if I ever opened my own clothing boutique.

Another View

This is a larger view of the abstract painting.

Abstract painting

This is an abstract painting done with photoshop. We were limited to using only two colours and I thought that red and black would compliment each other and look luxurious. I used both the paintbrush tool and the smudge tool. I kind of like it...I think that it sort of looks like drapery.

Men talk of killing time...

This was the first exercise of the year. We had to experiment with combining images and including text. I actually really enjoyed this assignment and I like the way it turned out. I am impressed with the textures that I could achieve with a computer. I think that I might try to focus on texture as a theme for the course.
I started taking a photoshop class a few months ago...its taken a while but the following are some of the things I have been working on.
